The Beginning
Wow… it’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since we kicked off what we called “Project F” — the codename that would eventually become Vector F.
As a kid, I dreamed of making my own game. Finishing one would be one of the greatest achievements of my life — a milestone I’ve been chasing for years. That’s why I started this project: to finally turn that dream into reality.
Making a game — especially a 16-bit one — takes three essential skills: art, music, and programming. Miss one, and the whole thing collapses. I can handle the coding, some sound effects, maybe adapt a few basic assets I find online… but pixel art from scratch? Or composing for the Mega Drive’s Yamaha/FM synth? No way.
At the very beginning, the game was called Project F for "Faster"
That’s why, in July 2024, I managed to gather a talented team I met at local retro gaming events.
Cyberdeous — a duo of insanely skilled Mega Drive musicians, right there from day one. They didn’t just compose amazing tracks — they also shaped the gameplay, the lore, and the sound design. Take a time to check their tunes : https://www.youtube.com/@cyberdeous
Luke — a gifted pixel artist who brought Vector F’s visuals to life: ships, characters, animations… everything you’ve seen so far.
With their help, I could finally start building the game I’d always wanted to play.
But assembling the team was just the first step — the real challenge was about to begin…
